Pinterest Project: King-size effort! Plus Everyday fun for Red

So for those of you on FB, do you remember a gazillion years ago when I said I was embarking on a giant Pinterst project?  Well, HERE IT IS!  I actually finished it within a week or two, but it has taken us a while to figure out how to mount this bad boy to our wall and get rid of the old head board and foot board (which were just a couple pieces we had found at an antique store but we never fully loved because they didn't match and were just odds and ends looking).  So here is the tufted linen king-size headboard I made for about $120:

Randy surprised me after he mounted the new headboard by bringing in a spare desk that was in Gracey's soon-to-be nursery and making a little sewing nook for me in our somewhat huge master bedroom.  PERFECT!  I love it!  I'm going to put my cri-cut on the desk too and hopefully learn how to use that.  :)
Here's a real close-up of the headboard:

I also just wanted to post a few pictures of every-day life with Red since that is my full-time job as mom!  I think he's just getting cuter and funnier each day.  His vocabulary is really coming along now and just within the last few weeks, Randy & I have noticed how much easier it is to communicate with him.  Thank goodness for our Prudenza (Red's Speech Therapist!).  Also on a therapy note, Red's last session of Occupational Therapy is in a week - the OT doesn't see a definite sensory-processing disorder, and doesn't feel a need to continue therapy now that he's been so much happier and in general, hitting his head a lot less.

Daddy & Red de-thatching the front lawn yesterday:  What a big helper!

I LOVE this picture of Red - don't you just want to squeeze him and eat him up, he's so cute?!  Playing trains is one of his favorite things - he loves to say "CHOO-CHOO!"
Red LOVES buses.  Now that he's front-facing in his carseat (yes, I retract all prior statements about keeping him rear-facing until age 2, we didn't quite make it!), he likes to point out EVERY single bus on the road.  Up until about 3 days ago, he only ever screamed, "BUUUUUU" when he saw a bus.  But with a LOT of reinforcement from Randy & I, he finally finished the word and now says, "BUUUUUUS!"  So cute.
Thank you Karen for this fun bus toy hand-me-down - one of Red's current favorites!
Red loves the windows in the front of our home.  He runs up to the window whenever the school bus goes by, whenever daddy pulls up, and whenever he sees much of everything.  His favorite words right now are "Bubbles, purple, buuuuus, Help, More, mama, dada".  We're proud of our munchkin-bug for all the new words and things he's doing.  :)  My next blog-post will be with lots of Hawaii trip pics and details so see you soon!
